LG showcased three brand new blu-ray players at the recent 2010 CES held in Las Vegas. Announced are the LG BD 550, LG BD 570 and LG BD 590. These 3 players are networked players which are made with ease of connectivity in mind. LG, claiming the first in the industry to put a hard disk drive in a blu-ray player, has installed a 250GB hard drive in its flagship LG BD590. It allows users to copy or download media so that it can be directly accessible. LG has also tied up with content services like Netflix and CinemaNow to facilitate streaming of the latest movies. These players are capable of decoding all the high resolution audio codecs such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master audio.

The entry level LG BD 550 comes without wi-fi but it still takes full advantage of the Blu-ray format. It provides convenient access to BD Live, which offers a extensive variety of content, such as movie scene extras, new previews and the ability to read synopses and rate movies. The Wi-Fi able LG BD570 is designed similarly in features to the BD 590 except for the lack of an onboard hard disk. Incorporating LG’s NetCast Entertainment Access, the BD570 gives buyers convenient access to a wide choice of entertainment content options.

LG has not announced any pricing or release date has been announced but these players look ready to continue the success of LG’s highly popular BD390.
