Injuries from dog bites are alarmingly the most common that humans suffer as a result of contact with dogs. There are nearly 1.75 million people bitten by dogs in the United States alone, each year..

While it is unfortunate that most victims are little boys, it is fortunate that most of these bites are not very serious or life threatening and fewer than 5% of these injuries ever become infected.

Dog bites have been receiving bad press publicity lately, which has led to more anti-dog legislation being introduced in the United States. In certain states, it’s now illegal to own certain breeds that have a pre-disposition to biting!
You must train your dog not bite anyone, including yourself!

Your dog must never grab you or at your hand in any situation including play and training sessions. This is called inhibiting dog biting, and to train your dog so, you need to have dog training biting skills.

A puppy should be taught from young not to mouth or nip you when you are petting it, grooming or even trimming its nails. Consistency in your correction methods along with making sure that each and every household member follow them, would bring positive results.

Dog training biting will ensure that your puppy does not use its mouth and teeth, to grab or hold. Each time your puppy grabs your clothes or any part of your body, an emphatic and stern, “No bite”, (use whatever you want to associate this correction with) pulling the puppy’s mouth away from your hand or area it has in its mouth at the same time should bring good results. Correct this nipping behavior whenever it happens regardless of the event that has caused it.

You love your dog, so help him or her learn not to use its mouth on any human ever!
