Some places honor outstanding teachers with scholarships in recognition of their superior style of teaching. VFW & AMS are two such organizations who award teacher scholarships for this achievement. The VFW teacher scholarship aims to “Identify and recognize America’s best educators’. They recognize the importance of a teachers impact on students learning the rich history of America. The AMS teacher scholarship for teachers is a teacher scholarship awarded for those who want to be a Montessori teacher and who are enrolled in college. The Montessori teaching approach is that children are encouraged to learn by way of doing and not being fed information to them all day long like so many of todays as well as past schools have. Children are believed to learn quicker and remember things better because they have experienced them in the classroom as well as outside settings as opposed to reading about them. VFW & AMS have teacher scholarships which could very well be the wave of future teaching methods that may be adopted by all schools.
