This Halloween let the kid in you get out and transform your house in to a haunted house. Everyone at one time or another has admired the house down the street that was always decorated for Halloween creepy and spooky fun. This year join in on the fun and let your child be the talk amongst his friends as having the coolest house. Not only will your child be grateful to you but you’ll have tons of fun in the process.
If a traditional Halloween theme appeals to you, here are a few tips on transforming your home into a Halloween haunted house.
Spiderwebs- you have to have spider webs. There are essential to adding spookiness to your home and can be purchased in bulk amounts at party and craft shops and online. Place them on shrubs or posts in a narrow walkway leading to the front door.
Jack O’Lanterns - To make your house themed for Halloween there must be some creepily carved Jack O’lanterns with some nice orangy back light providing enough light for kids to safely navigate the path and help to set the mood.
A scary sound tape is another must, filled with ghost-like sounds, the hoot of an owl and gusts of wind coming out of nowhere. Sound and movement activated props will give all the kids the creeps.
And last but not lease some very scary costumes for yourself and anyone else in your family joining in on the fun. Stand in costume as if you were a statue outside your home and while the unsuspecting kids arrive, slowly make your way towards them. Caution, you just want to frighten them a little. Not give them a heart attack. There are some great scary costume ideas online for both adults and children alike.
At this point, someone opens the door and sweetly offer them goodies. These kids have earned them!
